A Business Standing For What Matters
We live in a world of box stores, big agriculture, mass production, and endless convenience. Market Life was created from a different vision: communities where people can find good food, thoughtful goods, useful services, and genuine connection close to home—and where the people creating those things have a place to thrive.
We believe there is something powerful about small-batch. A jar made in a home kitchen, vegetables grown by a family farmer, a loaf baked by hand, or something beautifully crafted by a local maker carries more than a price tag. It carries time, skill, care, and often a story. When we support the people behind those things, the benefits ripple outward—strengthening families, creating opportunity, keeping resources closer to home, and making communities more resilient.
Markets can be more than places to shop. They can become gathering places where children learn where their food comes from, families meet the people who grow and make what they use, and neighbors build relationships that don’t depend on a screen. And in times when communities may need to rely more heavily on one another, a strong network of local producers and markets could become a valuable hub for trade, exchange, and mutual support.
Meet The Founder
Hey there! I’m Jacilyn, founder of Market Life, lifelong entrepreneur, maker, producer, and passionate homesteader.
Building a business while living close to the land has taught me a lot about work, resilience, and what it really means to depend on the people around you. I’ve learned that strong communities don’t happen by accident. They are built by people who are willing to show up, contribute what they know, support one another, and create something that lasts.
I bring that same mindset to Market Life. I’ve spent years building businesses, creating products, learning how to market them, and figuring out how to turn ideas into something real. Now, I put those skills and experiences to work helping independent market owners grow. Not simply to make another sale, but to build something they can be proud to pass on.
My faith is at the center of that work. I believe the skills we’re given are meant to be used well, the work of our hands has purpose, and what we build can leave an impact far beyond ourselves. Market Life is one way I hope to use what I’ve learned to help other people build something meaningful, strengthen the communities around them, and leave a legacy of their own.
The Values That Guide Us
Building stronger communities isn’t a trend—it’s a conviction. At Market Life, our faith comes first, shaping how we work, what we build, and how we treat the people around us. We believe the work of our hands matters, and that what we create should reflect purpose, integrity, stewardship, and a genuine desire to serve others.
We value independence over sameness, quality over convenience, and intention over hurry. We believe there is wisdom in slowing down, choosing carefully, knowing where things come from, and making room for relationships and meaningful work. We believe businesses can be profitable without losing their purpose, and communities can grow without losing what makes them unique.
We believe in supporting the people who grow, make, build, teach, and serve. We believe children benefit from knowing where their food comes from and who made the things they use. And we believe that when people choose to invest in one another, those choices can strengthen an entire community.
These are the values behind Market Life and the foundation for everything we build.
A Growing Ecosystem With More To Come
Market Life is building something much bigger than a directory. The directory is the foundation layer of a growing ecosystem designed to support independent markets and the communities around them—with new resources, connections, services, education, opportunities, and ways to participate continuing to take shape. We are building the infrastructure to help independent markets access the tools, knowledge, and support they need to grow with purpose.
Because sometimes the difference between barely making it and truly thriving is having the right support at the right time. We believe that when market owners are supported, they are better equipped to build businesses that last, create opportunity for others, and become lasting parts of their communities. Supported owners, thriving markets, strong communities, resilient families. That is the ripple effect we want Market Life to help create.
There is much more ahead, and we intend for Market Life to keep evolving alongside the people it serves. As Market Life grows, so will the ways markets can connect with patrons, support one another, build their businesses, and become more visible. We are building toward a future where independent markets are part of a strong, connected network—one that helps build stronger communities, one at a time.

Building Resilient Communities, One Independent Market At A Time
Built On The Rhythm Of Real Life …
Market Life 364 and the Market Life Directory were born from the everyday rhythm of homestead living – gathering eggs before meetings, weeding the garden between strategy calls, and building a business while raising a family. It’s a brand rooted in faith and the steady, grounded work of crating a life from scratch.
That same spirit shapes Market Life today – supporting the independent markets, makers, growers, and community builders who are creating meaningful local economies of their own. We bring together the people who live, work, and build with purpose – and who believe a good life is something worth building from the ground up.
